David comes from Guildford. His interest in magic started at the age of 8 and he trained at The Supreme Magic Co., Devon.
Katie comes from York, trained in Musical Theatre at The Guildford School of Acting and got her Equity card playing Elizabeth I and being rescued by Knights in shining armour at a daily joust.
They met in 1986 in the local cinema and in '88 set up an alternative comedy magic cabaret act. They were persuaded to become children's entertainers when a mum rang in desperation one morning because her magician had dropped down dead and she was panicking at the thought of thirty 6 year-olds descending on her house that afternoon!
In May '94 David & Katie's Fairy Tale Wedding in Walt Disney World received a lot of media coverage and as a result they appeared regularly on TV over the next two years to promote Florida holidays for the Disney Company.
Although they have done a lot of TV and voiceover work, David and Katie now concentrate on the 450 children's shows they do each year.
Amazingly 50% of their bookings are from word of mouth and 40% are repeat bookings. They have worked everywhere from The Tricycle Theatre, Kilburn to Brookwood Cemetary and St. James's Palace to Julie Walters' living room. Along the way they've seen everything from four children running naked across the lawn persued by a nanny waving their knickers, to a six year-old swallowing a ring - on purpose.
They live in a blue house with two Bengal cats, a pair of tortoises and a small pond full of big fish.
